In the early days of bike racing, in the 40's and 50's, a metal bidon was the container of choice for carrying water. The most recognisable bidon was Coloral, a fluted alloy water bottle with a cork stopper and tooled cap, signed off with a scripted logo.
Riders didn’t just reserve them for bottling water, but also to preserve a simple blend of milk and sugar that kept energy levels high during competitions, and even wine when celebrating victories.
As modern-day manufacturing processes took over and bidons switched to plastic, the brand name Coloral faded into the history books. Until now.
The modern-day Coloral team has re-engineered the original cycling water bottle. Staying true to its original design, it has been upgraded to premium quality, using food-grade stainless steel with a brushed, muted finish.
Band of Climbers first met the Coloral team back at Eroica Britannia in the Peak District in 2018. We were super impressed with their vision to bring back the original cycling water bottle, with a modern take. So we're delighted to bring you an ultra-limited edition Bidon, with custom Band of Climbers detailing. Only 100 Bidons are available for this collaboration. Our 2021 collab run sold out in just 48 hours.
The modern-day Coloral Bidon is vacuum insulated to keep your cold drinks cold, and hot drinks piping hot. Making the Coloral Bidon perfect for coffee on the go around town, or for adventure riding on the road or trails. Take it with you anywhere to reduce reliance on single use plastic coffee cups.
