BAND OF CLIMBERS

UK'S TOUGHEST GROUP RIDES

SUPPORTED BY

FREE GROUP RIDE

Come and join Band of Climbers in the North Yorks Moors for one of the toughest group rides you'll ever complete. We will of course be riding the 33% gradients of Rosedale Chimney, and if you thought that was tough, wait until you ride another four separate climbs with gradients over 30%.

This event is part of the Band of Climbers 'UK's Toughest Group Rides' tour of the UK. A series of free to enter group rides that will take us up and over the steepest, highest, and longest climbs in the UK. This ride is designed to test the legs to the limit, and showcase the very best UK cycling destinations.

WHERE AND WHEN

NO DROP RIDE

This is a 100km (62 miles) group ride, which will be ridden at a relaxed pace. This is not a race, and this will be a no drop ride. There is over 2500m of elevation. (8200ft) with multiple climbs over 20%, and 5 climbs with gradients over 33%, including Rosedale Chimney, and Sleights Moor.

THE START

The North Yorkshire Moors ride will take place on Sunday 6th June 2021. The ride will start at 9am, with small gaps to break the group into smaller numbers due to Covid. Please aim to arrive at the start location no later than 08.45am, for a 9am roll out.

SELF SUPPORTED

As this is a free group ride on open roads, there is no mechanical support on the course, and the route is not marked. There will be several Band of Climbers ride leaders on course to make sure the group completes the ride, and we will send the STRAVA Route 1 week before the ride to download onto your GPS computers.

You will need to bring your own tools, tubes and any spares in the event of a mechanical issue. Due to the severity of the gradients on the climbs and descents, we strongly suggest ensuring your brake pads and chain are in a good condition. Your bike and legs will be tested to the limit on this ride.
