Coloral x Band of Climbers Ltd Edition Bidon

In the early days of bike racing, in the 40's and 50's, a metal bidon was the container of choice for carrying water.  The most recognisable bidon was Coloral, a fluted alloy water bottle with a cork stopper and tooled cap, signed off with a scripted logo.

Riders didn’t just reserve them for bottling water, but also to preserve a simple blend of milk and sugar that kept energy levels high during competitions, and even wine when celebrating victories.

As modern-day manufacturing processes took over and bidons switched to plastic, the brand name Coloral faded into the history books. Until now.

The modern-day Coloral team has re-engineered the original cycling water bottle. Staying true to its original design, it has been upgraded to premium quality, using food-grade stainless steel with a brushed, muted finish.

Limited Edition

Band of Climbers first met the Coloral team back at Eroica Britannia in the Peak District in 2018. We were super impressed with their vision to bring back the original cycling water bottle, with a modern take. So we're delighted to bring you an ultra-limited edition Bidon, with custom Band of Climbers detailing. Only 96 Bidons are available for this collaboration.

Thermal Properties

The modern-day Coloral Bidon is vacuum insulated to keep your cold drinks cold, and hot drinks piping hot. Making the Coloral Bidon perfect for coffee on the go around town, or for adventure riding on the road or trails. Take it with you anywhere to reduce reliance on single use plastic coffee cups.

Retro style with modern quality for a thermos that fits properly in your cages

Everyone needs a bottle for the car, to hydrate on a daily basis or for post rides on a remote start, but car temperatures fluctuate so having an insulated bottle makes perfect sense except that many insulated bottles don't fit in cup holders.

For year round riders who brave sub zero temps, an insulated bottle is a game changer, since no one likes drinking slashes went it's freezing out, however finding insulated bottles that fit in cages can be tricky and gulps of hot cider or your favourite winter beverage have no equal.

Outside of the practical applications, if I had a true classic steel bike, I would consider adding a pair of these just for good style.

Water bottle

Excellent bit of kit. Lighter than it looks and keeps drinks surprisingly cool. I popped a couple of ice cubes in and it was cool hours later

What a bottle

Beautifully made, really is an amazing water bottle.

Christmas in July

Lovely product delivered swiftly by the BOC team. Nice to get a few of these limited edition Bidon, but whose Christmas stockings will be filled with BOC goodies?

Cool bottle

Lovely thing - satisfying squeak when you unscrew the top, feels and looks great.
Expensive for a water bottle but should be many years worth of use.
