Introducing the Alpine Weekend. A five day, four night climbing weekend in the heart of the French Alps, on the edge of the Vanoise National Park.

In collaboration with the kings of the Alps; 1330 Road Cycling, this is your chance to ride with Band of Climbers on a fully-supported, exclusive cycling trip where the sole aim is to ride stunning climbs with new friends and make lasting memories.
From the moment you arrive in Geneva, you will have nothing to think about other than riding and relaxing. We'll provide everything for you, including airport transfers, daily cooked breakfasts and dinners with our in house chef, energy drinks and bars, route guidance and van support on each ride, as well as Band of Climbers merchandise including bidons, cycling caps and your own custom print to remember the trip by.
This trip will allow you to ride not only the highest Cols of Europe, but we'll also take you on some hidden climbs and some of the most stunning routes in Europe. Our trip will also allow you to ride many of the climbs that will feature in the Alpine stages of the Tour de France and Etape du Tour in 2019, such as the Col de l’Iseran, Cormet de Roselend, and Notre-Dame-du-Pré.
The itinerary of the trip is as follows (although it is subject to change based on weather conditions and the strength of the group):

Day 1 : Thursday: Arrive at Geneva Airport, preferably at or before 11:30am. You will meet the BoC/1330 Road Cycling team who will drive you and your bike to the chalet. (2.5hrs approx.) For those guests arriving early enough to make the first transfer we'll have a light lunch, set up bikes and have an easy afternoon spin up through the quiet forest roads to Les Arcs 1800. A three course dinner with wine is served at the chalet each evening around 7:30pm.
Distance : 41km : Elevation 1200m.
Day 2 : Friday: Breakfast is served at the chalet at 8am before we roll out at 9am for the first full day's ride.
Today we’re combining parts of the route from the 2018 Tour de France and Critérium du Dauphiné stage to La Rosiere with the 2019 Tour de France and Etape du Tour stage to Val Thorens.
It’s a 9k descent straight out of the chalet door then a 6k roll along the valley to Bourg Saint Maurice and the foot of the Col du Petit Saint Bernard which we’ll climb via Montvalezan. These are the roads where Geraint Thomas took hold of the 2018 Critérium du Dauphiné and rode into the yellow jersey in the Tour de France the following month.
After the full 28k descent from the Italian border back to Bourg Saint Maurice we are now on the 2019 Tour de France and Etape du Tour course. The final climb of the day is the Côte de Longefoy to Notre-Dame-du-Pré, which will be the penultimate climb of the 2019 Tour. From Notre-Dame-du-Pré the ride ends with the superb, flowing descent back to Aime and on to Landry which is at the foot of the climb to our chalet. We’ll then transfer you back up to the chalet (unless you’d prefer to ride back, of course).
Distance : 111km : Elevation 2400m.
Day 3 : Saturday: After breakfast we'll head to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps. The stunning Cormet de Roselend to Beaufort and back via the Col du Pré. A tough day today on climbs featured in the 2018 Tour de France. The Roselend will feature again in 2019 and is the climb from stage 20 which precedes Coté de Longefoy which we will have ridden the previous day. The ride finishes in Bourg Saint Maurice and then we will shuttle you back up to the chalet for any pre-booked massage treatments and a three course dinner and drinks. Again, the chalet climb is an option to finish off your day.
Distance : 107km : Elevation 3000m.
Day 4 : Sunday: The big one, and more Tour de France 2019 roads. The highest paved Col in Europe, the Col de L'Iseran, on possibly it's opening weekend of 2019. We'll start the day with a cooked breakfast, before driving you and your bike up to Val d'Isere. It's possible to ride the full 50km climb from Bourg Saint Maurice, but the road is busy so we prefer to drive to the ski resort of Val d'Isere and begin the ride from there. It’s 14km to the summit at 2770m, then we'll drop down the other side to stop for coffee in Bonneval-sur-Arc before turning back and riding the South side of the Iseran which is the penultimate climb of stage 19 of the 2019 Tour de France, which finishes in Tignes.
From the summit of the Iseran there is the small bonus of the full 50km descent back into Bourg Saint Maurice where we will end our ride at our favourite coffee shop. It’s then a short transfer in the support van back up to the chalet.
Distance : 91km : Elevation 2200m.
Day 5 : Monday: After breakfast we'll complete our final ride on a local hidden climb known locally as Sunny Side, due to the way the light falls on the mountain side. Versant du Soleil is it's formal name. After the final ride there's time for a light lunch, before packing our bags in time for us to transport you back to Geneva Airport for your evening flight home.
Distance : 48km : Elevation 925m.

This trip is limited to just 12 places.

We would suggest the trip is for intermediate or above level riders, or those with at least some experience of riding in the mountains and a decent level of fitness. At no point will any rider be left behind on their own, as our support vehicles and guides will be on the road with you at all times. Of course, some riders will be faster than others, but we keep any waiting times between the first and last riders reaching the summits to a minimum.
